Colour plays an important part in magic as it corresponds to auras and our chakras. So here, I will take you through the basic principles of using colour in candle magic
Black is generally associated with protection and can defend against negativity and yes, black is also associated with hexes, so use wisely.
White is a very versatile colour as it can be a substitute for the absence of other colours. Being white, it's also used for purification, protection, cleansing, clearing away old or bad energy etc.
Violet, indigo or purple colours correspond to our crown chakra, therefore, these colours should be used in candle magic for opening up the third eye; to enhance intuition and gain insite, wisdom and spirituality
Blue is for peace, protection, calmness, and as it corresponds to the throat chakra, you can use blue candles for clear and concise communication and any spell to do with expression (singing, dancing, sport, art, public speaking etc)
Green is used for prosperity, calmness, and earthly desires. It can reduce feelings of anxiety or stress. This colour is also great for growth, nature, new business, luck, healing and money
Use yellow & gold candles for confidence, luck, concentration, optimism and charm spells. Let yellow's warmth absorb into your spell for added "light" and intention of the sun's power
Beautiful orange is used for creativity, success, legal matters, intelligence, mental clarity and combined with other colours, will stimulate the other colour do do its magic. It is also great for stamina, independence and help with change.
Red candles can aid with spells associated with passion, stability, instinct, basic needs such as water, shelter, safety. Red is also good for spells to do with lust, energy, strength and courage
Pink is the colour of love and attraction. Use this coloured candle to support your love spells when asking the angels to bring love into your life, or any matters of the heart.
